If you're like me, the last video game you played was on an old Atari 2600. These "new fangled" video game consoles are a little too complex for me to master even the simplest of games. But for hard-core "gamers" being able to see the high definition graphics these new systems provide in crystal clear quality is top priority, especially when you're playing head-to-head against the toughest of challengers.
A patient came into our office the other day to discuss a problem he was having with his vision while playing one of these video games. His vision was bothering him while playing "Call of Duty" on the XBox. We performed a specialized computer vision refraction and prescribed him modified contact lenses specifically for this purpose.
After playing the game with his new lenses, the patient called our Doctor and was ecstatic! His reaction time was greatly improved and he was able to “dominate the maps like he used to.”
We have no idea what that means, but we sure are happy we could make him happy!
If you have any type of vision problem - even if it only exists when playing video games - make it your duty to call our office for an appointment.
