During a recent exam, one of our eye doctors found an interesting cataract on a patient's eye. As the doctor explains,
"Normally, a cataract is just a yellowing of the lens inside your eye. It results in diminished ability to see clearly and makes it particularly hard to easily distinguish colors.
This patient has a very interesting cataract. Instead of being a little bit yellow, it looks like someone put their “thumbprint” right on the persons lens inside their eye. Of course, this didn’t happen but rather the lens has a layer on the outside that is a little hard to see through.
We’ll monitor this patients cataract and when it is ready we will have it removed and replaced with an artificial lens."
If you are suffering with even the slightest loss of vision, or if you can't distinguish colors, now may be the time to have your eyes checked for cataracts. Our experienced team of eye care professionals is available six days a week with convenient appointment hours. Schedule your appointment online or call us at 570-226-1300.
